The EU offers certain advantages for its member countries in the field of education, health, and democracy provided that a country like Turkey joins it unconditionally. Common currency, development policies, such as improvement in the judiciary system, and income distributions are factors enough for joining the EU. Despite all, as Turkey now has the ability to produce its own tanks, helicopters, warships, and so on, it is argued whether it should join the EU. After the admission to the EU, if Turkey has to give up its own production capacity and is imposed to purchase European products, it may lead to Turkey’s economic decline. Obviously, joining the EU is not rational on the whole.
